The Sony PS3 was built with a new processor developed specially for the PlayStation console. The Cell processor, as it is known, is based on the PowerPC processor by IBM.

The PlayStation system is used when Spirit autonomously exits a parking spot. The PS3 has four processors working with Yellow Dog Linux to quickly examine information from two backward facing obstacle cameras.

Cell:  A microprocessor architecture jointly developed by a Sony, Toshiba, and IBM in an alliance known as "STI."
