Sponsors have allowed Axion Racing to be ranked 6th in the 2004 DARPA Grand Challenge and ranked as the 3rd team in the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge. These team rankings were from intensive DARPA qualifications held for over a week at the Fontana California Speedway. During 2005, Axion Racing's Spirit started and finished ahead of  many university teams including Caltech, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Princeton, and Cornell. She started and finished ahead of DoD contractor Mitre and also started and finished ahead of the Ford Motor Company autonomous vehicle entry.

Axion Racing is a self sponsored autonomous racing team battling large universities, Department of Defense contractors, and large for profit organizations. The team spends five cents or less for every dollar spent by well funded competitors. The team's major sponsor has been the Kehaly family of Westlake Village, California.

TerraSoft Solutions helps with Axion Racing's Sony PlayStation 3, which is Powered by Yellow Dog Linux NavCom Technology provides GPS solution sponsorship working with our Northrop Grumman LN-270.

Sponsor monies continue to help complete requirements on a shoestring and the autonomous results are spectacular in action. Dollars to cents, no team gets as much out of sponsorship money as Axion Racing.
